Hometown

I was born in East Jakarta, but I moved to South Jakarta for 7 years then I moved again to Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta and lived there up until now. My definition of hometown is a place where you grew up and cherished good memories. So, I think Kelapa Gading is my hometown. I wish live here for the rest of my life but I couldn't because I have to move again to Medan and it's making me sad.

Kelapa Gading is well known as a commercial-industry. There are many parks, malls, restaurants, bars, karaokes and schools in Kelapa Gading. Another thing which is very special about Kelapa Gading is its food industry, there are many different restaurant which are offering different kinds of food. Kelapa Gading contains five shopping malls. Some of these malls are Mall Kelapa Gading, La Piazza, Mall Artha Gading, Kelapa Gading Trade Center, and Mall of Indonesia. Despite being a well-developed area, Kelapa Gading is affected by flood every rainy season due it's geographically low plain characteristic.

I have been to many cities in Jakarta, but still I regard Kelapa Gading to be the most beautiful city because it's a place where I grew up and there's so many beautiful memories there even though Kelapa Gading still has a lot of flaws.

MOVIE SPOILER! because why not? "Brides War"

The movie begins with a montage of shots of wedding items from a scrapbook box then a voice over from Candice Bergen tells the story of two girls (Emma and Liv) who went to the Plaza Hotel with their mothers for lunch in June and saw a wedding.
They then fell in love with the idea of having their weddings in June at the Plaza when they got older. One of the things they picked up at the wedding was a hair barrette, which was dropped by the bride. Emma and Liv started a scrapbook box of wedding items including the barrette and even practiced getting married in their attic with Liv always acting as the bride. It then moves to present day where they are both 26.
Liv and Emma are shown at a wedding of a friend with their respective boyfriends Daniel and Fletche. At the wedding, they critique it and say how they would change it and then go after the bouquet and a screen shot shows their intensity of trying to get it.
That night, while Liv and Emma are going through clothes in Liv's closet they discover a Tiffany ring box, which Liv is very excited about in thinking it's an engagement ring from Daniel.
Emma and her boyfriend, Fletcher are eating Chinese for dinner when they open their fortune cookies, where she finds an engagement ring and says yes to his proposal. She calls Liv who is happy, but also seems a bit upset she was not first in getting engaged.
The next day they are running in the park and Emma says she already has an appointment the next day with premiere wedding planner Marion St Claire (Candice Bergen) as they just can't work with anyone but her.
The next morning Liv and Emma go to Marion's office and ask about June dates at the plaza. Marion says there are three spots left, 2 on the 6th and one on the 27th.  Liv takes the 6th, as it was her parent’s anniversary.  As they are leaving, they tell the incoming bride that there is only one date left in June at the Plaza.
While out dress shopping, Emma finds a Vera Wang dress which Liv then tries on and chooses. Emma has decided to wear her mother's dress. While shopping, Marion calls to tell them their weddings were booked on the same date, June 6th.
Their fiancés suggest a double wedding and they don't want to share the date.  As tensions begin between the two, they agree to not make any decisions until it is figured out.
When Emma asks about Liv, Fletcher said they were out doing their save the date cards.  Emma gets upset and sends out a mass e-mail, which is poorly typed, to her entire address book, except for Liv, telling them all to save the date of June 6th. Liv and Emma are being thrown a joint bridal shower and get into an argument over Emma's e-mail and their behavior.
They both continue with their wedding planning by making deposits on their date at the plaza, ordering invitations, picking out cakes, and not speaking to each other. Their friends refuse to take sides, so they have to find maid of honors and they both start calling really old friends and cousins with no luck.
Liv hires her male assistant to be her maid of honor and Emma reluctantly asks Deb who says she will then need more help at school if she is going to be her maid of honor.
Liv and Emma then begin a series of pranks on each other.  Liv steals Emma's dream DJ for her wedding, darkens Emma's spray tanning to make her orange, she sends an alternative dance instructor to their wedding dance lesson who runs them ragged and plans to tamper with their video at the wedding by showing one from their spring break trip.  Emma sends Liv cookies and chocolate supposedly from Daniel so she will gain weight and not fit her dress, puts an unflattering photo in their hometown paper about their wedding and changes Liv's hair highlights to blue.
They both continue to drive their fiancés nuts with their intensity and fighting.
Emma and Liv seem to be missing each other, as they don't have a friend to talk to.  Liv sees Emma running at the park, but she can't hear her over her ipod.  Emma calls Liv at work, but she does not get through to her, as her assistant can't hear her due to her office sign being moved.
The big day arrives and Emma and Liv are getting ready and Emma's dad visits Liv to wish her well and tells her that her parents would be proud.  Liv feels bad and decides to switch Emma's movie back to what it should be, instead of the spring break she had substituted.  She asks her assistant to switch it back, but he drops the CD in the flowers on purpose so it does not get changed.
Emma's Dad comes to see Emma and gives her the scrapbook box they had as girls.  He takes out the barrette and puts it in her hair, but Emma says it should have been Liv's.  Both girls want to see each other, but it is time for them to walk down the isle.  Their eyes meet in the hallway as they are about to enter their rooms and they smile slightly.  As Emma enters her ballroom, the video plays of her on spring break. She gets really mad and runs into Liv's wedding and tackles her from behind.  They flight and then say they can't do this anymore.
As Emma gets up, Fletcher is very mad at her for ruining their wedding and he insults Liv. Emma stands up for Liv and says she wishes she were more like Liv. Emma tells Fletcher maybe they should not get married as he fell in love with who she was 10 years ago.  They break up, and he leaves. Emma then takes the barrette of her hair and puts it in Liv’s; she then walks Liv down the isle.  At their reception, Nate asks Emma to dance.
It then flashes ahead to one year later, and Emma meets Liv for breakfast. Emma has returned from her honeymoon with Nate.  Liv suggests that they toast, but Emma says she is not drinking and Liv says she is not either.  They are both pregnant and due on March 3.

Re-tell Favorite Movie : P.S. I Love You

P.S. I love you is one of my favorites movies of all time, it’s a romantic movie and i’m highly recommended this one. I was crying like a baby when i watch this movie. This movie is about a young widow discovers that her late husband has left her 10 messages intended to help ease her pain and start a new life.
Holly Kennedy is a beautiful, smart and married to the love of her life - a passionate, funny, and impetuous Irishman named Gerry. So when Gerry's life is taken by an illness, it takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her is the person who is no longer there, Gerry. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry. So it's a good thing he planned ahead. Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that will guide her, not only through her grief, but in rediscovering herself. The first message arrives on Holly's 30th birthday in the form of a cake, and to her utter shock, a tape recording from Gerry, who proceeds to tell her to get out and "celebrate herself". In the weeks and months that follow, more letters from Gerry are delivered in surprising ways, each sending her on a new adventure and each signing off in the same way; P.S. I Love You. Holly's mother and best friends begin to worry that Gerry's letters are keeping Holly tied to the past, but in fact, each letter is pushing her further into a new future. With Gerry's words as her guide, Holly embarks on a journey of rediscovery in a story about marriage, friendship and how a love so strong can turn the finality of death into a new beginning for life.

Claudia

Claudia

This is a short story about a regular girl in high school that is discovering herself and trying to survive high school.
Hi! I’m Claudia, 16yo. I lived with my parents, one older brother; Alessio and one sister; Beth. I was an athlete in grade schoo;  great one, I’m also good at singing and drawing, I won several times at singing contest. I have my best-friend; Stacy, she always support me and my family loves me. “What possibly can go wrong?”. That’s what i thought first, until i entered my teenage life in highschool. Life turn to be a HUGE roller-coaster, [Shows roller coaster]  sometimes i’m the highest peak of my life, sometimes i’m at the lowest point and sometimes my life just wondering around going nowhere. Here’s my story about my teenage life:

[First Day of Back to School ]

Stacy: “Hey clau, how’s your summer holiday?” *opening her locker
Clau: “It went great actually, we went to my dad’s lodge in Tofino, British Columbia. How’s yours? I heard that you went to Bonnaroo music festival. I’m so jealous!”
Stacy: “Mine went pretty cool, we went skiing in colorado. You know how much my family loves snow, right? But sadly i had to cancel the music festival”
Clau: “I know i know..”

            [Suddenly bell rings]

Stacy: “Oh great! First day of school is officaly started. C’mon girl”
Clau: “Ugh..yeah, wait a minute” *running to chase Stacy*
I studied at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. It’s a small public highschool in Manhattan, New York.  It’s pretty near from my house. My older brother; Alessio and I went to the same school. He’s in his senior year while I was a freshman.
But, there’s something bothering me or probably scaring me about this school. It’s how the sociality divided into 4. The jock, the brainiac, the mean-girl and yeah..the forgotten one. I really want to get into the Mean-Girls’ circle to be honest, i mean just look at that dress and shoes. Everyman admire always them. Just imagine how it feels to be admired by lots of people.
Stacy: “EHEM! Wake up you daydreamer” *knocking my table*
Clau: “Wait, what?” *wipped drolls*
Stacy: “Ew! You’re drolling. The class already over, girl. Here’s the note, i bet you didn’t take a note. We had a quiz tomorrow, so get ready” *handed over a notebook*
Clau: “Don’t worry stacy, i can handle it. Let’s grab some lunch” *cleans up*
Stacy: “After you”

[At cafetaria]

Clau: “Hey stacy, i was thinking about the Homecoming party next week. Who would take as a date?” *while grabing a bread*
Stacy: “I already had a date. Josh called me and asked me. He’s cute, so why not. You?”
Clau: “I don’t know, i don’t even want to go..”
Stacy: “Really? You HAVE to! How could you leave your bestie alone...” *frown*
Clau: “But you have a DATE and I’m not”
Stacy: “You could ask your.....hot brother?”
Clau: “EW no! Gosh. I’m about to vomit! NO!”
Stacy: “Just kidding, weirdo. But i admit that your brother is hot. Hey hey, how about Tyler?”
Clau: “He already asked Jenna. So no...Oh please don’t put me into your matchmaking thingy”

[A Boy Approaching Them]

Andrew: “Hi, what are you guys up to?” *wave*
Clau: “Hi, nothing” *waves back*
Stacy: “Good timing! Andrew have you take someone to homecoming party?”
Clau: “Stacy!!!”
Andrew: *laugh* “No. Why? Let me guess, clau didn’t have a date. Right? How about me? You can go with me”
Clau: “I don’t think so drew, your fans could kill me”
This boy is Andrew, he’s a football player. He lived near my house. He’s pretty popular and got a fanclub; a hardcore fanclub.
Andrew: “Nah, you think too much. We’re good”
Clau: “But i already feel their killer-instinc. Ok, hear me guys. I don’t want to go to the homecoming...I’m just gonna embarrass myself” *sigh*
Stacy: “Oh clau....” *facepalm*
Andrew: “Aw clau. Oh shoot! I gotta go, i have a practice today. See ya around” *run*
Stacy & Clau: “Bye!”
Stacy: “Have you lost your mind Claudia William Monteiro!? He’s Andrew, one of the most popular and influenced person in this school. YET, he’s your neighbors!”
Clau: “C’mon Stacy. I could find another person, believe me. It’s not like he’s the only boy in this world”
Stacy: “Don’t give me that puppy look, whatever clau. As long as you’re coming”
Clau: “I’ll be there”
