Indonesia; a country where I was born and raised. Indonesia is located in Southeast Asia, near to Australia and next to Malaysia and New Guinea. Indonesia has 18.000 islands and 6.000 of them are inhabited. Even though Indonesia is not-very small country and having many issues and lagging behind advanced countries such as U.S or U.K, I think Indonesia is a very beautiful country and has a very rich culture. And here's the reason why:
Indonesia has 34 provinces and every different provinces has their unique. In fact, there are 300 ethnic groups in Indonesia and Javanese is the largest ethnic group in Indonesia, and each with their own food, tradition, and dialects. Although Bahasa Indonesia is the national languange of Indonesia, there are over 724 indigenous languages. Most Indonesians speak their indigenous language as their mother tongue and Bahasa Indonesia for school and careers, which making most Indonesian are bilingual
As I mentioned before, Indonesia has 300 ethnic groups and every each of them has their own different food taste. Speaking of which, Indonesia has A LOT of different kind of food. From spicy food to sweet food. I've done some research on Internet and here's Top 3 Indonesian Food:
1. Satay,
Satay or Meat Skewers is very famous in Indonesia or even International. We got chicken, goat, and rabbit. The sauce is made from peanut and soy sauce. Other nations now trying to claim (no hate) Satay, but Indonesians consider it as a national dish. The most popular kind of Satay is "Sate Madura", it served with rice cakes (ketupat) and diced cucumber and onion
2. Nasi Padang,
Singaporeans may say they can't live without it, but Nasi Padang, named after it's birth city in Sumatera, is 100% Indonesian. You can choose from among more than a dozen dishes, like, rendang, opor, gulai, balado, otak (brain), etc. You can eat by your hand in Indonesia and it's REALLY OK to do that.
3. Gado - gado,
"Mix-mix" is the term gado-gado is often used to describe situation that are all mixed up. As a food, however, it's one of Indonesia's best-known dishes, essentially a vagetable salad bathed in the country's classic peanut sauce.
Last but not least, my reason why I Love Indonesia is The Traditional clothes. They are amazingly gorgeous. I mean, look at these. Aren't they beautiful?
Bali's Traditional Clothes
Padang's Traditional Clothes
Suku Dayak's Traditional Clothes
So, that's my reason why I love Indonesia. There's a lot more thing you can discover and fell in love with it. I would highly recommend you to visit this country. BYE!
